DIY Burlap Table Runner

You may recall seeing this burlap table runner from Pottery Barn.  Unfortunately, it is no longer available, however, it is so easy to recreate!  As you know, I love burlap for Fall.  It provides a rustic, yet soft element for Fall decor.

Last year I saved myself $40 and decided to create my own.  It has been a great Spring and Fall staple for our dining table, kitchen countertop when we are serving from there, mantle, piano and more.  I love it so much, I have decided to gift a few to dear friends.

To create your own, purchase 2.5 yards of burlap {90" in length} in the desired color.

Pull one thick thread at your desired width {I did 2'}.  It creates an easy guide to cut a straight line.  Cut.

Pull a thread, one at a time, to fray the edges on all 4 sides.

I pulled 5 threads on each side to achieve this look:

If needed, iron and store in a roll to prevent wrinkles.

I hope they enjoy their runners as much as I do mine!
My other favorite burlap projects are a burlap vase, burlap flag banner, and burlap frame.
