Our kitchen is getting there! The cabinets have been painted white, stain glass vent cover has been removed, new hardware pulls and knobs have been added, along with new light fixtures. What do you think? If you recall from this previous post, our kitchen was dark and dated with white carpet.
After taking this first photograph, I realized I couldn't live with the black dishwasher. So, I transformed it with a little DIY project.
For less than $100, I added all new knobs and pulls.
We had custom 3", 4" and 5" hand carved wood floors made to give the space character. They are a lot more rustic than the traditional hardwoods you see.
Thanks to your Facebook votes, we decided to add these Pottery Barn pulley light fixtures in the kitchen and above our table. I love the ability to raise and lower the light over our kitchen table.
Next year, we plan to replace the appliances, add a subway tile backsplash, a new faucet and carrera marble countertops to complete the space. I can't wait!

Where did you find those wonderful pulls and knobs?? Such a great re-do and I'll bet it's a joy to cook there!
Great remodel on the kitchen...:))
Happy Halloween and dreaming under the table!
Stop by for a slice of pie!

Mominator-I looked at several hardware stores, Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware, finally deciding on Home Depot's for the pulls {$4.97 each} and Target for the knobs {$19.99/10}
Be careful with marble counter tops! They stain. I have been wanting them but after reading reviews, am probably going to do light granite.
I know, but they're beautiful! No stain, no gain, right?
