Gifts | Sugar Scrub

I enjoy making gifts for those dear to me.  When contemplating what to give one of my friends for her birthday, I knew that I wanted to give her something natural.  After all, we often talk about taking a step back and looking at products we use and the things we consume and considering chemicals, artificial flavors, etc.  Years ago, a friend got me into making my own bath products.  I immediately recalled the scent-rosemary mint!  It's so invigorating for winter!  It makes a great hostess gift!

Supplies:
sealable jars {I used 5.4 ounce glass canisters from Target}
labels {Paper Bag Rectangle from Paper Source}
sugar
grapeseed oil {health food store/Trader Joe's}...can substitute EVOO
rosemary
spearmint essential oil {health food store}
mixing bowl
spatula
ice cream scoop

Mix 3 cups sugar, 1 cup oil thoroughly.  Add 1 Tbsp and 1 tsp dried rosemary {for color and texture}.  I'll be honest-I don't know how many drops of oil!  I shake several drops, stir and smell until I'm satisfied.  Stir well.  Each batch yields 4-5 5.4 ounce jars.

Add the mixture to your containers using an ice cream scoop.  Clean the container if necessary, add label and seal.  Click here for the free printable labels.

A couple months at least-I never allow it to sit much longer than that. I use it daily. Enjoy!
