Updated Foyer

When we purchased our house, I had a vision of a traditional, clean and classic entryway. It was difficult to see through the dark door and brown carpeting, but at last I can say that I have accomplished it.

The transformation began by removing the carpeting on the stairwell. We removed thousands of staples {they must have accumulated through the years}, sanded them and had the treads stained. Later, the risers were sanded and painted.  

To accent it, I created this gallery wall for just $55:

The new 9 lite front door was an anniversary gift from Chris. Click here to see our front door before and after. What a difference it made! I'm enamored with the added light.

As you can see from the first photograph, I retained the brass and crystal light fixture. It's beautiful, classic and just how I dreamed the entryway of our home would be. Since brass has made a comeback, I've seen them upwards of $500!
